Filthy, Rich & Catflap

Filthy, Rich and Catflap was billed as the follow up to The Young Ones (minus Mike!).  It was written by Ben Elton, with additional material by Rik Mayall.

For some reason the episodes weren’t named and the show only lasted one series ....

Main Cast

Rik Mayall as Richie Rich  (actor)
Adrian Edmondson as Eddie Catflap (minder)
Nigel Planer as Ralph Filthy (agent).

Series One - 1987

Episode One
Pack your bags and grab some Brazilian currency! It's time to flee for the Costas. Richie Rich has stiffed some Milkies (they're all D-E-A-D) and things could get heavy! And what's worse, a 17 year old popsie has filed a paternity suit (tres mucho mazola!) which is a bit odd ' cos Richie's love truncheon's been used even less than Eddie's deodorant!

Episode Two
Hold on to your wallets boys and girls 'cos Richie's desperate for cash! His all time favourite four-tissue- fantasy, the Nolans, are demanding a thousand quid or they'll plaster his befrocked, lipstick-smeared piccie all over the News of the World. Perhaps Eddie can help? After all, he's just sold a pile of vomit for £1,000 and burps are going at 250 quid each...

Episode Three
Reach for the sickness tablets! Make way for Goodyear-starred chef Richie Rich! He's organised a dinner party with fine wine, fine food and fine friends. Well, the man from the dirty magazine shop and wino Bill anyway! But everything goes horribly wrong when Eddie's caught leaving the supermarket with frozen chicken stuffed down his underpants. Whatever would Tarby say?

Episode Four
Great news! Richie's dad's about to croak and Richie's all set to do an advertisement for a flower company at his funeral (tres mucho mazola). Until, worse luck, he recovers, and Richie's going to lose everything! Unless of course his dad still dies... Things get heavy when Eddie and Richie find themselves in a gay bar propositioning men. But what they're doing in Foxy and Mr Men oven gloves with enough rat poison to kill an army is anybody's guess.

Guest Appearances:
Lynda Bellingham as Ms Tomkins

Episode Five
Keep your finger on the remote control - Richies about to become enorm! He's got a showbiz job reading the gossip on TV AM with those megastar totties Anne Diamond and the Pink Goddess. But his rise to stardom h its an obstacle (ooh er) when he finds himself plastered over the papers. Things get worse when Eddie and Richie are caught mooning to three million viewers (it's enough to Put You off your cornflakes)...

Episode Six
Richie and Eddie have given up showbiz and begun a career as the scum. As journos they're digging up dirt on Midge Ure and Mrs Thatcher and what they can't find they make up. But watch out! Now Richie's dug up his ball-point there's no stopping him. Who else is he going to smear with his, evil lies? And if Brucie and Tarby aren't safe - who is?
