It is to be written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran (who wrote Rik’s The New Statesman) and his character is called Adonis Cnut. 23rd September Bottom 2001 : An Arse Oddity Tour News Adrian had to go to hospital on Friday after Rik accidentally hit him in the face with a jug when they were rehearsing for the show at the Southport Theatre. The Jonathan Ross Show Rik and Ade will be on The Jonathan Ross Show on Radio 2 next Saturday (29th) the show starts at 10am. Two of Rik’s characters appeared, Rick from The Young Ones (Number 14) and Alan B’Stard from The New Statesman (Number 17). The Comic Strip Presents ... The Paramount Comedy Channel is continuing showing The Comic Strip Presents series, they’re showing Consuela on Saturday 19th @ 01:30am, The Yob on Sunday 27th @ 00:50am and Susie @ 01:50am. Tales of Uplift and Moral Improvement Rik’s new show Tales of Uplift and Moral Improvement starts on BBC Choice on Tuesday 29th @ 21:45pm. 22nd April Best Fight Scene Only Movies website ran a poll for fans to choose their favourite combat sequence in a movie, 22,000 fans voted. Richie and Eddie came 15th for Guest House Paradiso. Bottom Live DVDs The three Bottom Live tours have now been released on DVD, follow the links on the Bottom Merchandise page. Interviewing Rik Mayall Burton Mail trainee Chris Watson interviewed Rik Mayall, read about his experience here. The Comic Strip Presents ... Channel 4 is showing Four Men In A Plane on Friday 27th @ 11:55pm. The Paramount Comedy Channel is showing Strike on Saturday 5th @ 1:20am and Mr Jolly Lives Next Door on Sunday 6th @ 1:25am. Harry Potter and The Philosophers / Sorcerer’s Stone Rik has been seen in Gloucester where they’re filming Harry Potter, this from The Leaky Cauldron website - Rik Mayall was in Gloucester for the filming, though he did not film all the scenes with the pupils. He merely had to shout his lines in the cloisters of the Cathedral, so as to achieve the correct sound level for the scene. His body would later be added with special affects. Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets Before the first film has even been released there’s talk of the second Harry Potter movie. Apparently the cast in the first film have sequel clauses written into their contracts so Rik should be appearing as Peeves The Poltergeist in the other films, though I don’t know how many of the books Peeves appears in. The 100 Greatest TV Characters Channel 4 are continuing their run of The 100 Greatest ... with the greatest TV Characters. They have just completed writing the third episode - and they have changed the setting from the flat to being stuck on an island! Sound familiar?
