Channel 4’s Comic Strip Night is on Tuesday 4th starting at 9pm - Four Men In A Plane, Four Men In A Car and followed by a documentary.

Four Men In A Plane
Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, Nigel Planer and Peter Richardson have just finished filming the new Comic Strip Presents special. According to Nigel Planer its supposed to be on over Christmas on Channel 4 on a Comic Strip Night ... but its not mentioned in the Christmas addition of the TV Times so maybe its on in the New Year. The Young Ones Sequel
Adrian has denied that there is going to be a Young Ones sequel - “I have heard rumours of a Young Ones movie but none of us who were in it or who wrote it seem to be involved. So should be quite interesting to watch. I wonder who will be in it..." - to see the full chat go to the BBC website.

Rik is currently recording the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar - and even does a bit of singing. He’s playing King Herod.
Paramount Comedy Channel (UK)
Paramount Comedy Channel are showing some more of The Comic Strip Presents series starting this Friday (Dec 3rd - same day as Guest House Paradiso release !) with Five Go Mad In Dorset and Five Go Mad On Mescalin.

BBC2 are showing Hole on Saturday 4th December, but for some reason are calling it The Biggest Bottom Ever! - don’t know if its got some unseen clips in it or what !

There’s a new video out (UK) on 15th November. It has the very best clips from The Stage Show, The Big No2 Tour and Hooligans Island, it also features exclusive bloopers from Rik and Ade’s new movie - Guest House Paradiso - and a making of documentary. RRP £15.00, Certificate 18.

There was a clip on the Rough Cut (BBC2 - UK) which showed that the excellent Simon Pegg from ‘Spaced’ (Channel 4) and the new show ‘Hippies’ (BBC2) is in the film.

The Young Ones Reunion !!
In this weeks TV Times (w.b.25/09) is an Insider Exclusive !
Nearly twenty years since they first came to our screens, there are plans for a movie reunion. Rick is now a presenter on MTV, Vyvyan's a top scientist - who has invented flatulence-powered cards - and Neil runs a chain of sandal shops. Then Mike shows up with an urgent problem that brings them all together. The release date is 2001, which will coincide with the re-release of the original shows on tape and DVD.

UK Gold are showing Carry On Columbus this Saturday @ 6pm which stars Rik in the last ever Carry On film. Following that is the whole series of Blackadder Goes Forth where Rik and Ade star in Plan D - Private Plane @ 10pm.

Bobby Angel
Rik is in this weeks TV Times magazine under the 'Insider' section. He's going to star in a show called 'Bobby Angel' he stars as the title role and its the 'UK's answer to Jerry Springer'. It follows Bobby's daily confessional show, which is broadcast throughout the world. 'Guest's arrive at his studio to have their problems solved, but leave either addicted to drugs, sexually abused or simply in a coffin'. Its expected to be on tv next Autumn.

Rik's other animated tv programme - Tom and Vicky - starts at the end of the month on ITV (UK) at 3.30pm on the 27th August. If you don't live in the UK, good news - Tom and Vicky has been sold to seven countries including America. Rik's co-star is Richard Attenborough (Jurrasic Park). The show is about two kids' adventures in their Granddad’s garden.

Rik's Accident Last Year
Rik has revealed that he needs to take medication for the rest of his life to prevent him from having life-threatening seizures. The epileptic fit he had in February was because he didn't take one.

Guest House Paradiso
Rik and Ade are writing a film version of Bottom called Guest House Paradiso. Filming starts next week in Ealing Studios and on the Isle of Wight. Richie and Eddie are owners of a Hotel which is next to a nuclear power station. A spokesman for the project said: "It's like Bottom set in Fawlty Towers." It is due for release in December. The film will be Ade's debut as a film director.

Rik Mayall has been taken to hospital for further tests after collapsing at his home. Barbara told The Sun: "Rik is doing fine. It's a blip." A spokesman for the hospital confirmed: "He has had tests and he is fine.
